The Catalytic Carbon used in this cartridge contains Calgon Centaur™ Carbon. This is a specially enhanced carbon developed through an advanced process starting as Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) to reduce chloramines. In combination with KDF media to significantly extend the life of filter cartridges. KDF-55 media reduces Heavy metals by the redox process and filtration. Both KDF redox media are bacteriostatic and inhibit the growth of microorganisms in the filter.
